Course Description
This Basic Life Support course will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical life-saving assistance until support arrives. This course also covers the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

- What is First Aid?
- Action in an emergency
- Primary survey
- Secondary assessment
- Resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Disorders of respiration
Assessment
Continuous observation by the trainer and assessment.
Certification
Successful candidates receive a certificate which is valid for three years.
