Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre

Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre is an independent residential and outdoor learning centre which sits close to the borders of Wiltshire, Hampshire and West Berkshire. Oxenwood is located near Marlborough, Wiltshire in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Oxenwood Centre is the perfect setting for school and youth group day trips or residentials. Our experienced and friendly Outdoor Education Instructors can design and deliver a programme of safe and exciting adventure activities and outdoor learning, which builds confidence, teamwork and skills.

Residential Accommodation

Oxenwood has a residential capacity of up to 38 group members and 6-8 group leaders. There are 38 beds for students and young people, which are split between a large 20-bed dormitory room and three 6-bed dorms. For teaching staff and group leaders, there are 8 beds in 3 separate rooms.

The Centre has full toilet and shower facilities (including disabled access), clothes washing and drying facilities and access to a common room, recreation room and dining hall. The Centre also has a staff room with a basic kitchen including a sink, microwave and kettle for making hot drinks. This can be used as an additional staff bedroom if required.

Catering

Residential groups can select from fully catered, part catered and self-catered options. A range of nutritious, home-cooked food is prepared on the premises each day, this includes breakfast, lunch and evening meals. Day Groups

Oxenwood can accommodate larger day groups for adventure activities, Curriculum Enrichment Days and team-building activities, with plenty of space to get outdoors, explore and learn. Residential and day groups can make use of our classroom with full audio and visual equipment.

Access to the Centre

All residential groups will have exclusive access to the Centre and facilities during the evening and will not have to share the accommodation with other schools or groups. This includes communal areas like the recreation room and dining hall. For residentials and day visits, we can also offer exclusive access to the classroom space.
